At
a press luncheon on April 25 in Taipei, Kaigo Co., Ltd.,
local affiliate of trade show organizers KolnMesse International,
announced the final details for the first Taipei International
Hardware & Home Appliances Show (THHAS), to be held
May 3-5 at the Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC).
The
event organizers reported that a total of 89 exhibitors
have registered to participate in the inaugural version
of the show. They will occupy 137 booths in Hall 2 of
the TWTC. Some of the big names in the industry that have
confirmed their participation include KSS, Mobiletron
Electronics, Tatung Co. and Melchers Trading GmbH.
The
show will cover hardware, home improvement, DIY, building
suppliers and the home appliance industry. Parallel to
the exhibition, THHAS will also feature a series of supporting
programs and know-how seminars to provide a forum for
the international exchange of information and discussion
of the latest developments in the industry.
Forum
topics will include "The Challenge and Opportunity
of Traditional Industry", "EMC Regulations on
Home Appliances" and "The Hardware Retailing
Market". Additionally, a DIY activity sponsored by
Homax, a leading Taiwan DIY retailer, will be utilized
as an interesting focal point to attract non-business
visitors.
The
show venue will be divided into the three different sections
of the "Tools Section", the "DIY &
Home Appliances Section" and the "Forum Section".
Show organizers expect about 4,500 overseas and local
visitors to take part in the event. Thus far, there are
400 pre-registered visitors.
The
exhibit profile will cover hardware, gardening products,
sanitary ware and bathroom fittings, interior fittings
and decoration, safety equipment and supplies, building
materials, chemical products, electrical small appliances,
accessories and parts for small appliances, electrical/mechanical
systems and supplies and DIY products.
The
sponsors of the show are the Taiwan Hand Tools Association
and the Taiwan Regional Metal Smelters Association. An
additional supporter of the event is the Metal Industries
Research & Development Center.
